KCTCS Trainings

TrainingsIn Person / Hands-on
The in person / hands on training sessions are usually organized by each college. This training can be anywhere from 1 to 3 hours or 1 to 3 full days of training, depending on the level and topics being taught. The instructor is either Paige Brooks-Jeffiers from the system office or someone from your campus. Check with the Distance Learning Peer Team Member at your campus for the In Person/Hands-on training schedule

Online / Asynchronous
In the future, we will have 3-5 minute tutorials designed to help you learn the LMS quickly and efficiently. In the meantime, please use these tutorials created by George Washington University.

Webinars / Watch, listen and ask questions
Each semester several webinars (or online seminars) are offered through the System Office. You can participate from anywhere with a computer (or a mobile device with the Bb Collaborate app) and internet connection. Sessions usually run about 30 – 60 minutes and cover a specific topic on online teaching and learning including using the LMS (Learning Management System). Take a look at sessions currently being offered. Recordings for sessions already held can be accessed at any time by clicking Access Archive from the training schedule

When you participate in a webinar or watch an archive, you may request a Certificate of Completion (for PD folder) or suggest a webinar topic by emailing Paige Brooks-Jeffiers.
